Africa's Perfectly Shot Plainsgame - Review
Africa’s Perfectly Shot Plainsgame - Sable Trail Productions

This is Marc Watts first hunting video and is based on a safari he took with Rhinoland Safaris with Professional Hunter Marius Kotze. Africa’s Perfectly Shot Plainsgame is filmed in the bushveld of northern South Africa. Although only a five day safari, Marc is successful in taking 15 animals in the short duration.

He begins day one with an offhand shot at a nyala, then follows up with a running shot at an ostrich. The original plan was to shot the ostrich in the head, but Marc’s ends up dropping him dead on his feet with a running shot. The final harvest for day one is a 470 yard shot on a warthog – a very impressive shot and the warthog dies where he’s hit. Day two begins with a great sable, a roan, and Marc finally shows he’s human when he misses several shots on a hartebeest. The hunt continues with Marc taking two varieties of zebra, two blesbok, a kudu, another warthog and finally a 30” wildebeest.

Marc shots one of Jarrett’s 7mm custom rifles and makes some amazing shots on the DVD. The hunting video is a great representation of what can be taken on a short plainsgame safari in South Africa. The hunting is non-stop, and you get to see a wide variety of game in their natural habitat. If you’re planning your first trip to South Africa this is a great video to get a feel for the hunt.
